Scavenger Crawl -- Are you in?

What's your favorite thing about Colfax?

The Satellite Bar? A Colfax Pub Crawl? Interesting trivia in the bars? The colorful characters? Riding the Miller Party Bus? Meeting cool, fun singles at a referral-only event?

The DBD Girls and Miller Brewing Company have combined all of your favorites into a single event...

The Scavenger Crawl

It's a combination of a Pub Crawl and a Scavenger Hunt along the ever-interesting Colfax Ave. Better yet, it's only for single people who have been invited by you and people like you. (We do not advertise these events, and never will.)

Here are the details about The Scavenger Crawl:

Meet at the Satellite Bar at or shortly after 4:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 31st.

Of course, you must be single and available (not "or").

Invite other cool, fun singles people using the "Invite More People" link (scroll down and to the left).

Cover charge of $12 includes a free drink (beer or well), refreshments and use of the Miller Party Bus!

RSVP to the evite - scroll way down to tell us you are coming!

When you get to the SB, we will assign you to an evenly balanced boy-girl team.

Rules and scorecards will be given to the team. Naming of the team is optional, but could be fun.

The Miller Party Bus will be available throughout the Crawl to get you to and from destinations (although all will be on Colfax, and are considered walking distance).

A couple hours after we let you loose, we'll all meet back up at the Satellite Bar for some food, more cocktails (if you are so inclined) and we'll announce the Winning Team!

As always, SB has shuffleboard, pool, darts and video games, as well as lovely bartenders and the other hunters to spend more time with.

Bars, scavenger hunt items, and start and return times to be announced at the event.

PLEASE, PLEASE RSVP through the evite when you know if you are going to join us. If you need to receive the evite, send an email to doubleblinddate@gmail.com.

See you all soon!

Pass it on.

Memorial Day weekend

Started off with golf on Friday afternoon. Unfortunately it was at the shittiest course I've played in a long, long time. Lake Arbor Golf Club is a course to avoid. I've seen less chain link fence surrounding a prison. Huge fences lining the T box to prevent you fron hitting the houses, condos and apartments which were 20 feet off the course. There were two holes where, if you hit your T shot straight, you would hit a structure. So they put up a fence.

Hit the road Saturday with a friend and drove to A-Basin to ski for a while. That's right. I went skiing on Memorial Day weekend. Stayed at a condo that night and had a nice time with a half dozen people. The indoor hot tub was pretty sweet too. Got up Sunday and made it back to A-Basin for a few more runs and the beer festival.

Rested most of Sunday then went to an indoor cookout as the weather turned lousy here. Cool and wet for Sunday and Monday. The moisture is welcome here so no complaints.

Hope all of you had a nice weekend as well. Time for me to get some work done (don't want you to think this is all fun and games;)

Nice weekend

Had a great weekend - played golf with Sharon on Friday afternoon then at Arrowhead on Saturday. Arrowhead was the nicest course I've ever seen. Unbelievable - the pic is of Jason (From the famous bike your liver to work pub crawl). We paired up with two guys from MN and they took a hundred pics - they are sending them to me and I'll post some later. Started off really well (par, bogey, par) but I think the setting got to me....

Got up Sunday and took Sharon & Ambereen hiking at Red Rocks. Hiked for about 2 hours then had brunch (gratis thanks to Brian, the GM, who picked up the tab since his employee wrecked into my car last week) at the Shiprock tavern. Wonderful way to spend the day!

On my way out the door to play 18 at City Park again with a few buddies.

Life is good ;)

First ever Bike your Liver to work pub crawl

Oh yeah - last Saturday we had a bike pub crawl. 12 bars? Started at 3 pm on 17th and Vine. I think we actually made it to more than 12 bars. Got home at 3am. Ouch.
Some pics can be found here.

Spring is in the air

Well, I've been slacking on the blog I guess. Three weeks since the last post? Been keeping busy training for a 5k (consistently running for over 4 weeks now), hitting the gym and getting ready for hiking.
I've played golf at Fossil Trace and am playing at Arrowhead this weekend. Worked my first concert the other week - Juanez. I guess he's won 11 Grammy's in the Latino category. I never heard of him but he had quite a following. Lots of beautiful Latino women. Went hiking at Red Rocks with a friend last Sunday to break in my new hiking boots and pack. While we were on the hill I noticed a woman walking around my car. If you look closely at the picture, you'll see my red car with rock star parking on the bottom left. A work truck is parked behind me. Well, it turns out that truck had just backed into my car and ripped off the rear spoiler, tore a hole through the rear hatch, broke the tail light and damaged the rear quarter panel. So, I'm getting my car painted and someone else is paying for it - sweet!! It'll fix the road damage from the drive out here.
REI had a huge sale last week so I picked up a pack, stove, water filter and hiking shoes. Chris & Stace sent my sleeping bag and bedroll. Mom & Dad shipped my tents. All I need now is some bear spray! Hope to get to Utah soon for a hike. Maybe Memorial Day weekend.
Other than that, all is well. The weather here is a little crazy though. I ran yesterday when it was sunnay and 79. 2 hours later a cold front moved in with winds strong enough to stop me in my tracks. And a foot of snow in the high country. Flurries here this morning. Oh well, still better weather than Ohio!
